Matua Steve Reid
Kaiwhakahaere Matua | Manager & Founder (Ngāti Porou, Te Whānau-a-Kai)
Hailing from the East Coast of Aotearoa, Steve brings a lifelong passion for kapa haka to the Tūhono Kapa Haka Festival. With over 25 years experience teaching kapa haka in schools across Ōtautahi and more than 15 years managing a Trust organisation in Aranui, he brings his experience and love for people to shaping an event for all.
Gina Reid
Kaiwhakahaere Kaupapa | Operations & Event Manager (Pākehā)
A steady presence behind Tūhono operations, Gina brings over 20 years’ experience across charitable trust organisations in Ōtautahi. From supporting schools and staff to overseeing venues, she provides the reassurance and coordination that keeps the event running with ease.

Each year, we invite kapa haka exponents from across the community to judge our competitive concerts. They bring with them years of experience and a passion for the culture, contributing to the ongoing wellbeing of kapa haka in Aotearoa.
Rena Viliamu has been part of Tūhono since its early years and supports the oversight and coordination of our judging panel.
